Maximize Your Potential: Join the 2026 YANG Mentorship Program Today!

Diverse young professionals celebrating success in a bright setting - MAXIMIZE POTENTIAL.

Empower Your Future: YANG's 2026 Mentorship Program Unveiled

The Young Auto Care Network Group (YANG), part of the Auto Care Association, is thrilled to announce the launch of its 2026 Mentorship Program, now in its fourth year. With an impressive average of 115 mentees and 23 volunteer mentors participating each year, this program is designed specifically for individuals under 40 who are eager to thrive in the automotive aftermarket. Best of all, it comes at no cost to its members.

Tanya Hunt, chair of YANG, summarizes the program's essence: “The YANG Mentorship Program is where experience meets ambition in the auto care industry. It fosters collaboration, learning, and respect across generations.” This initiative strengthens connections among all participants, ensuring that everyone can grow together—whether that means becoming a mentor or seeking guidance from a seasoned professional.

What to Expect from Mentorship Circles

In the 2026 program, participants will be grouped into Mentor Circles according to topics of interest. Mentees have the unique opportunity to rank their preferences from various industry-specific themes such as Navigating the Aftermarket, Moving Up the Ladder, and Entrepreneurism. Each circle will consist of about five mentees paired with one mentor who specializes in that chosen area.

Following registration, which closes on November 30, participants can anticipate joining a kick-off meeting in January 2026, setting the stage for quarterly Mentor Circle meetings throughout the year. This structure is designed to ensure consistent engagement and maximize learning opportunities.

Core Principles: Networking, Development, and Giving

Central to the YANG Mentorship Program are three pillars: networking, professional development, and giving back. Mentees will benefit from the insights of successful veterans in the aftermarket, gaining crucial guidance that supports their aspirations. It’s a unique small-group format that allows for meaningful interactions and fosters lasting relationships.

The mentorship program is not just about personal growth; it is about shaping tomorrow's leaders within the automotive field. Participants will have the chance to focus on individual professional goals while learning the tools needed to thrive in the industry.

Why This Matters to Automotive Shop Owners

For auto repair shop owners looking to maintain a competitive edge, the YANG Mentorship Program represents a strategic investment in future talent. By supporting their younger employees in this initiative, shop owners not only enhance their team's skills but also cultivate a work culture that values continuous learning and professional growth. This can drive better performance and profitability.

Additionally, shop owners should consider their own involvement as mentors. Sharing insights and expertise through mentorship can not only enrich their legacy but also help steer the industry towards innovation and best practices, benefiting everyone in the automotive ecosystem.

Take Action: Join YANG Today

For those under the age of 40 in the automotive aftermarket wanting to expand their knowledge and network, joining YANG and signing up for the 2026 Mentorship Program is a vital step. Registration is open until November 30 and provides an incredible opportunity to connect with peers and established professionals while enhancing your career trajectory.
